LOST ELECTORATE
FATE OF OHINEMURI MR. A. M. SAMUEL CONCERNED Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., will bp in the unhappy position at the expiration of his current period, of being a member without an electorate i£ the Commission’s representations are carried through. The first intimation of the commission’s proposals was given to Mr. Samuel by a SUN man this afternoon. “I can’t see why they should wipe out my electorate altogether,” he said, “and I think it is rather rough on me, after I have just won the seat.” Mr. Samuel won Ohinemuri in the Reform interests at the last election, the defeated candidate being Mr. Hugh Poland, who had represented the district for many years.
MR. NOSWORTHY’S SEAT GOES The Ashburton electorate, another which has been wiped out, is that held by the Hon. W. Nosworthy, Post-master-General.
