AN AFTERNOON TEA

Mrs. A. R. Quayle was the hostess yesterday afternoon at a charming little afternoon tea given in honour of Miss Schaen, a visiting American presswoman and writer who is at present spending a few weeks in New Zealand on her way roud the world on a “copy-hunt.” Miss Quayle wore a smart frock of navy blue chenille embroidered georgette and a close-fitting black hat, and Miss Schaen’s chic little tailleur was of gendarme blue kasha trimmed with striped cuffs and collar, and worn with a small fawn felt hat.

Miss Quayle’s guests were:—Mesdames Coates, Macky, Mase, and the Misses Schaen, Melville, Walker, Baker and Cook.
