SHOT IN PHILIPPINES END OF ‘ SULTAN’’ HAYA ■By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright Reed. 8 a.m. MANILA, Monday. The constabulary shot and killed “Sultan” Haya, a notorious Filipino rebel leader, when he resisted arrest. Haya was charged with the responsibility for slaying eight members of the constabulary in 1926. He has long been famous for raids in which he has burned schools and committed other depredations.— A. ansi N.Z.
