TROTTING
BACK TO HEADQUARTERS
JACK SHAW’S RETURN WESTERN KING A BEAUTY The local popular light harness trainer, Mr. Jack Shaw, returned from Sydney by the Maunganui this forenoon, looking in the “pink" and ready to make another start on Jewel Pointer Amaris, Direct Morning and Co., for the forthcoming Auckland fixture. Interviewed by a representative of THE SUN after arrival Jack, who is a man of few words, had something good to say in favour of Mr. M. Moodabe’s new purchase, Western King. 'The Rock Huon horse, who is only four years old, is, according to the local mentor, a fine stamp of horse, showing exceptional quality, as sound as a bell., and a beautiful mover. As to speed —well, said Shaw, wait and see. Western King is expected to arrive next week, when Auckland enthusiasts will have an opportunity of seeing the newcomer.
