WHANGAREI NOTES

TENNIS CLUB DANCE Notwithstanding the fact that there was a big counter attraction in Gardner’s Hall on the same evening, the dance of the Maunu Tennis Club, in the Parochial Hall, on Tuesday, proved to be a great success, and the funds of the club will be considerably increased as a result of the effort. About 65 couples graced an excellent floor to music supplied by Mrs. Mervyn Wilson (piano) and Mr. G. Snedden (violin). Much appreciated extras were played by Miss A. Mackay and Miss Dawson, the latter of Maungatapere. A splendid supper was provided by the ladies of. the club. The stage was tastefully decorated, and the whole proceedings reflected great credit upon Mr. D. Wilson, the secretary of the club, who carried out the duties of M.C.
