jXEP NEARER CO-OPERATION
co j[ e . —Press Association.—Copyright GENEVA, Saturday. Walter Runciman, President of ' chamber of Shipping of the United Kingdom, at the Economic Conference, foreshadowed a proposal for a conferee between the Ministers of Commerce and Finance of the different rountries for the purpose of giving elect to the recommendations of the conference. A sub-commAtee adopted a formula •oncerning industrial agreements. This declares that while! refraining from interfering in political questions the conference, recognising the importance of a renewal of world trade, regards the participation of all the States present, irrespective of their economic system, as a happy augury for future co-opera-tion by the nation 3. The Russian delegates accepted the formula, but voted against the reports of the committees on commerce, industries and agriculture. This caused much comment and annoyance, a 3 the Soviet representatives are alleged to have promised to abstain from voting if they disagreed, and so enabling the conference to be unanimous. It is believed the Russians are awaiting the fate cf their motion proclaiming the co-existerce of capitalism before deciding what attitude they will take upon the final recommendations of the conference. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
