A MINISTER’S VISIT
CHRISTCHURCH PROTEST HON. R. A. WRIGHT’S REPLY Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. Interviewed to-day in connection with the Press Association message from Christchurch to the effect that the Canterbury Education Board had protested that when the Minister of Education visited Christchurch for the opening of the Training College “he was taken in hand by Members of Parliament and the Board lost the opportunity of placing matters before him,” the Hon. R. A. Wright stated that every opportunity was afforded the board. Two telegrams had been sent to the chairman of the board, and in reply to the second the board requested an interview after the Training College function. The Minister agreed; but when the function was over, members of the board did not seem to know anything about it.
