SAILORS’ CONCERT
NAVY LEAGUE ACTIVITIES Some time during the winter, the Auckland branch of the Navy League proposes to "put on” a play under the direction of the secretary, Commander J. R. Middleton, D. 5.0., R.N.V.R.. and, in addition, the men of the Royal Navy, now on the New Zealand station, propose to hold a concert in the Town Hall. With the originality usually displayed at similar functions afloat, the sailors’ concert should be a distinctly amusing affair. On May 30, the league is holding a "book night” to collect books, periodicals and papers from members, for the men of the Diomede. These will be put aboard before the cruiser leaves Auckland for the long cruise in the Islands. *
