A Fine Athlete. —An athlete who gained distinction recently in wrestling is W. Bayne, of Te Awamutu. He first made his appearance at the Te Awamutu Young Men’s Institute tournament, held last December, when he defeated E. Holmes. A fortnight later he competed at the New eZaland championships, when he defeated two opponents in the light-hei vy-weight class, attaining championship honours. Later he added the King Country title to his list by defeating Weber at Raetihi. He vv'ill be called upon to defend his title against AJber Sf irrow. of Raetihi, at Te Awamutu on May 30.
