Hurled From Cycle Into Side-Chair
REMARKABLE COLLISION A SHREWD YOUNGSTER {Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. The youth of to-day is a very farseeing person as a rule. / Yesterday afternoon a boy was riding a bicycle along River Road, Avonside, when he collided with a motor-cycle driven by i. young man. The motorcycle, to which was attached a sidechair, hit the cyclist hard, and what was left of the boy’s machine would not have arDUsed even a glimmer of interest in the heart of a junk man. The marvel of the affair, however, was that the boy escaped without a scratch, for in the accident he was hurled from his mount, to describe a more or less graceful curve, and land in the side--chair. The usual crowd collected, but the boy showed no desire to shift from his unsought perch. From that place, sitting like a little duke, he demanded the name and address of the motorcyclist, and would not stir until he had at least eight witnesses to prow# that the motor-cyclist had promised to bear the cost of the damage to his bicycle. Then, and only then, did he consent to the cycl.st driving him home.
