Collision Off Tiri

TRAWLER AND SCHOONER NAUTICAL INQUIRY TOMORROW A crash of two small ships in collision off Tiri Tiri on the evening of March 7, and the consequent comments from both vessels, were heard by no one but the sea gulls, but the matter was not allowed to end there. The sequel was legal action, and the details of the collision between the auxiliary schooner Elsie Mary and the steam trawler Ahuriri, will he ventilated in a nautical inquiry before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at 10 a.m. to-morrow. Mr. Allan Moody will represent the master of the schooner and Mr. E. H. Northcroft the skipper of the trawler. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr. V. R. Meredith, will appear for the Marine Department and Captain T. Braidwood and Mr. W. Joass will be present as assessors.
