Permission was granted the Interhouse Girls’ Sports Association to have the use of Carlaw Park on November 12 for the next sports meeting. The transfer of Colin Highland from the Richmond Club to the Athletic League Club in Hamilton was approved of. A letter was received from the Rotorua League asking the Auckland Rugby League to encourage as much as possible the sending of teams to Rotorua with a view to fostering; the code in that centre. It was moved that all senior matches at Carlaw Park be commenced at 2.45, while the curtainraiser start at 1.30. The regrading of D. Gallagluer and R. Murray from M. 0.8. seniors to seconds was approved of. The City Club wrote drawing the league’s attention to the inadequate lighting facilities at present provided at Carlaw Park for night training. The club suggested that another two lights be installed. The matter was left in the hands of the Grounds Committee to view the ground and make a report at the next meeting. The constitution of the Referees’ Association was approved of subject to the following clause being inserted: “That when a referee orders a player off the field for misconduct or any other offence'that he shaß appear with the player before the Judicial Committee.” A notice of motion tabled by Mr. C. Adamson, to be considered at the next meeting, is as follows: ‘“That all senior matches played under tjhe rules of the A.R.L. shall be played in two spells, each spell to be of not less than 40 minutes’ duration.” WANTS PERCENTAGE S. AUCKLAND RUGBY LEAGUE THE MENZIES CASE A somewhat Gilbeirtian situation has arisen in connection with the ilaymg of Menzies, the South Auckland League rep., in the recent: match between New Zealand and Auckland. The South Auckland League has now put forward a claim for a percentage of the gate-taking at the match, on the ground that Menzies was a member of the South Auckland League and played without permission. Last night’s meeting of the Auckland Rugby League considered the matter and decided to send to the South Auckland League a copy of all the correspondence sent to the New Zealand Council on the question of Menzies’s case. As regads the percentage of the gate takings, the League had no recommendation to make.
