Northern Steam Directors.— At the annual meeting of the Northern Steamship Company held yesterday the retiring directors, Messrs. E. H. Davis, Charles Rhodes and J. H. Upton, were re-elected-Messrs. W. Wallace Bruce and G. O’Halloran were reappointed auditors.

Greater Reciprocal Tariff. —“ This chamber views with disapproval the demands made by farmers both in Ausstralia and New Zealand for an embargo. or prohibitive duties between the two countries on the direct products of the land, and solicits the supof other chambers of commerce in New Zealand to urge further reciprocal tariff.” This, a copy of a resolution passed by the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce and forwarded to the Auckland body for consideration. At yesterday’s council meeting the Auckland Chamber unanimously decided lo support the proposal.
