A BRILLIANT COUPLE
NORMAN AND KATHERINE DAWN It is not till Norman Dawn, director of “For the Term of His Natural Life,” a Master picture due for early release, mentions his birthplace, the Argentine, that the brilliant deepness of his black eyes and the tan sweep of his jaw assume a new significance. His early youth was spent in an Argentine engineering camp, but hearing the call of the stage, and incidentally the movies, he travelled to Hollywood, where, after some experience, he directed many of Universal’s big successes. It was while he was with Universal that he met Katherine Rhodes, a young scenarist, who worked with him on the set, and after an impetuous and distinctly southern wooing they were married. Dawn attributs many of his successes to the encouragement of his wife, who has, throughout the making of his first Australian production, assisted him in every way, acting by day, cutting and writing and editing by his side at night. Katherine Dawn is the per- i feet example of intellectual beauty.
