DEATH AT HUNTLY
MR. GEORGE JONES (From Our Own Correspondent .) HTJNTLY, To-day. The death has occurred at Huntly of Mr. Geo. Jones. He was born in Gloucester, England, in 1845. The deceased gentleman was connected with the grocery business in the United Kingdom till about 1905, when he proceeded to Western Canada, setting up in business at Saskatoon. About 1907 Mr. Jones arrived in New Zealand and lived at Hamilton for six years and then returned to Canada. In 1922 he finally came back to New Zealand, living the evening of his life in Huntly, after having passed man’s allotted span and reaching the ripe old age of 82 years. The deceased was of a quiet and unassuming disposition and made many friends here. Messrs. Geo. and Edward Smith, of Huntly, are brothers-in-law of Mr. Jones, who is survived by his widow and a family of five sons, none of whom, however, are living in New Zealand. The interment took Place on Tuesday Cemetery, Mi-. Cairns (Brethren) c-inducting the ceremony at the grave-side.
