GET A RECEIPT!

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO IT CHECKER CABS INNOVATION “You are entitled to a receipt!” This is the latest slogan of the Checker Taxi-cab Co. in Auckland. See that you get it! Checker’s latest innovation is to equip its cabs with receipt-issuing meters. THE SUN photographer found the first Aucklander being handed his receipt by the taxi-driver. This method places the Checker taxis in the same relative position to the present opposition cabs, it is claimed by this company, as the original Checkers were to the then order of taxi-cabs. The innovation, it is believed, will give this service even an additional impetus. The Checker Taxi-cab Co. incidentally paid its shareholders for quarter ended March 31 an interim dividend at the rate of 8 per cent.
