TWO EARLY SETTLERS DIE Two early settlers in the Auckland Province died on Sunday. Mrs. Sarah Ann Goldsworthy, a daughter of Mr. John McGechie, one of the earliest pioneer settlers, died on Sunday at the residence of her only daughter, Mrs. J. Crookes, of Onekunga. She was born at Warkworth in 3846, and her husband, the late Mr William Goldsworthy, who died eight years ago, was born at Great Barrier Island in 1844. After their marriage in 1868 the late Mr. and Mrs. Goldsworthy lived at Thames, later iarming for 30 years at Mauku. On their retirement, they lived in Pukekohe.

The late Mrs. Goldsworthy has lived In Onehunga since the death of her husband. The three surviving members of the family are Mr. J. B. Goldsworthy, Devonport; Mr. W. S. Goldsworthy, Papatoetoe; and Mrs. J. Crookes, Onehunga. The funeral will take place at Pukekohe cemetery today. A prominent figure in Presbyterian Church circles in Thames and Auckland, Mrs. Margaret Fotheringham. died on Sunday at the age of 80. Coming to New Zealand in the sixties, the late Mrs. Fotheri ngham settled with her husband in Thames, and later removed to Grey Lynn. The funeral will take place to-day.
