“A GOOD BOY OTHERWISE”

LAD WHO STOLE TORCH A lad of 16 whose name was 'inked with that of another boy who was remanded yesterday on a charge of stealing from motor-cars, appeared in the Police Court this morning charged with stealing an electric torch. Chief Detective Cummings told the court that the accused had got in with the other boy, who was undoubtedly the master mind. Otherwise he was a good boy and had been working well, and his parents were of good repute. The case was adjourned for six months to see how the boy behaves himself in the meantime, a condition being that he must report himself to the probation officer.
