TRACTOR’S PLUNGE

TIPPED INTO HARBOUR DRIVER’S CLOSE CALL (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. One false move while tipping soil into the harbour at Miramar for the new wharf caused a tractor and trailer to back into 30 feet of water, the driver being thrown clear on to the bank, still clutching a piece of the steering wheel. He managed to avoid immersion, but was badly shaken. The tractor will be recovered at low tide.
