HEAVY BUS TRAFFIC
ENFORCING A BY-LAW WAITEMATA COUNTY PROBLEM A by-law of the Waitemata County Council prohibits traffic in excess of three tons from using the roads under its control during the months of May to September. The county engineer, Mr. A. Murray, reported to a meeting of the council held yesterday that the effect of the by-law was to put the motor-buses off all roads except the Helensville concrete hi &J} wa y* ~ The chairman, Mr. G. O Halloran, said it was absolutely essential for the buses to continue running m the different ridings. They provided the only means of transport to a large numb Mr Of F e w e Grigg said he thought that as the council had made the by-law it should be enforced. Mr. A. M- Laing said he would not like any interference with the buses in the Titirangi Riding. It was decided to enforce the b>-law.
