A MODEST CLAIMANT BEFORE LANDS COMMISSION (From Our Resident Reporter ) WELLINGTON, To-day. “Are you claiming the whole of the North Island,” asked Mr. Justice Sim of a claimant before the Confiscated Lands Commission to-day. “I saw that the commission was sitting here and came all the way from Taranaki,” was the reply. The judge: Why did you not come when we sat in Taranaki?—Petitioner; My mortgages have been keeping m* too busy to get away.
