LAD CHARGED WITH THEFT REMANDED FOR A WEEK A lad of 17 who, it was alleged, had been stealing from the pockets of motor-cars about town, appeared in the Police Court this morning-. Mr. Selwyn Clarke asked for a re mand, and told the court that the boys’ parents were nftt in New Zealand at the present time. He had been living with his sister but had got out of control.

He was remanded for a week on bail (£3O) on condition that he stayed in at night and reported daily to the police. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., suppressed his name in the meantime.
