BETTING WITH A BOOKMAKER
MORE FINES DEFENDANTS INCLUDE SOUTHLAND WOMAN Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The second batch of cases resulting from the recent raid on the premises of A. V. Whitta (convicted of being a bookmaker) were heard to-day. All the defendants resided some distance from the city. One was a woman in Southland. •Fines were imposed ranging from £2 to £ls for betting with a bookmaker.
