INDUSTRIALISTS’ ANNUAL LUNCHEON
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION “The business of the association has expanded very much during the past five years, and with this expansion the office of president has grown so onerous that had it not been for the valuable assistance of and the great work done by the secretary it would "have been impossible for me to have continued in office,” said the chairman of the Auckland Provincial Industrial Association at the annual luncheon and meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce this afternoon. “Pushing protection is only a sideline with us,” said Mr. F. M. Hills, who seconded the adoption of the annual report.
The secretary, Mr. J. Findlay, stated that all nomination papers received had asked for the re-election of the president, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, who was therefore returned. Mr. Allum said that he welcomed the opportunity to carry on the work he had undertaken, especially the getting of an exhibition building and site.
Officers were elected as follow: General committee, Messrs. J. H. Dalton, T. T. Garland, I. E. Heighway, F. W. Jones, S. E. Lamb, W. X). Munn, A. W. Parker, C. B. Plummer, G. Mills - Palmer, W. Parkinson, S. S. Scott, C. A. Whitney, J. Wilson: vice-presidents, Messrs. B. Buttle, H. Dearsley, G. Fraser. G. Finn, S. J. Harbutt, F. M. Hills, L. Joll, A. E. Lawry and J. W. Wiseman; auditor, Mr. W. Wallace Bruce.
