BRITAIN’S HOPE

SCHNEIDER CUP RACE SEAPLANE BEING TESTED Reed. 8 a.m. LONDON, Monday. Britain’s hope of recapturing the Schneider Cup rests with the new seaplane called the Crusader. The preliminary tests were, at the request of the authorities, secretly carried out by Mr. Bert Hinkler, the Australian aviator, during the weekend, and are continuing this week. There is every reason to expect the Crusader to have a speed of 250 miles an hour. This is the chief reason for the delay of Hinkler’s flight to Australia. —A. and N.Z.

Tiie SrhneidAr Gup is awarded to the winner of an international seaplane race.
