COTTAGE ABLAZE

ESCAPE IN NIGHT ATTIRE NOTHING SAVED Press Association WAIROA, To-day. Fire destroyed early yesterday morning one of the vreezing works cottages occupied by an employee, Mr. W. Gates, who, with his wife and family, just escaped in their night attire, saving practically nothing. The brigade used the works lowpressure water supply, as the cottages are now outside the borough boundary, and effected a splendid save of several adjoining buildings. The building was insured for £ 625 with the Eagle Star office. The insurance on the contents is not available.
