FOOTBALLERS HURT

SEVERAL WEEK-END CASES Several football players were admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday -as the result of injuries received during the progress of Saturday’s games. P. JT Tong, aged 20, of Scotia Place, was admitted on Saturday evening suffering from a dislocated cartilage of the knee. This morning he was stated to be doing well. Another youth, A. Ockleston, aged 19, of Hobsonville, was also admitted to the hospital the same evening suffering from internal injuries of a serious nature. This morning he was stated to have passed a comfortable night and that his condition was slightly improved.

A number of others were also treated for minor injuries in the casualty ward, and were then discharged.
