STONE HITS WINDOW IN ROYAL TRAIN
STRANGE MISHAP ON LONG RUN TO ALBURt
By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Rec d. 10.10 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day While the Royal train was en route from Melbourne to Albury last night a stone was thrown near Benalla. It broke a window of a compartment five carriages away from the Royal suite.
It is stated that the whole distance covered by the Royal train, in a 190miles non-stop run from Melbourne to the Victorian border, was carefully protected by guards who were stationed at intervals of three miles. The points and junctions were carefully watched, and the train was,preceded by a pilot engine.—A. and N.Z.
