AUCKLAND’S HEALTH

A LIGHT MONTH INFECTIOUS DISEASES During the month of April 179 cases of infectious notifiable diseases were reported in the Auckland Health District. For this time of the year the whole of the province is particularly healthy, and there has not been any serious outbreak of even a mild form of Influenza.

There was a good deal of diphtheria reported during April, made up as follows: 25 cases from Central Auckland, 25 cases from Coromandel and Opotiki, 5 cases from South Auckland and 2 cases from North Auckland. There were 30 cases of tuberculosis reported, 13 of them coming from the Central Auckland district. Scarlet fever has been moderate over the whole province, only 29 cases being reported.
