DEMAND FOR DEBENTURES MINING SHARES DEAD Insurance and bank stocks continue in good tone, with a few parcels changing hands on a firm market. The miscellaneous section registers increased activity with an improved demand for better classes of securities. Mining shares are dead, registering little change on late quotations. Government and local body debentures continue in good demand, with several small parcels changing hands. SALES REGISTERED At yesterday afternoon's call: South British Insurance (£2 14s); New Zealand War Loan, 1933, 5£ per cent., (£lOl ss). At this morning’s 10 o’clock call: New Zealand Insurance, £1 17s 6d. At the mid-day call: Union Bank of Australia, £ls 14s: Huddart, Parker, £2 7s 6d; South British Insurance, (£2 14s); Auckland Harbour (deb.), 6 p,er cent., (£104).
