SECOND-HAND MARKET
FAIR NUMBER OF SALES NEW CARS PREFERRED “The present market, in the secondhand cars direction, is not as good by half,” a prominent dealer told me this week. Allied to the necessity for economy making a difference, he attributed the present position to the fact that in the last years many makes of cars have been reduced in price, and are offered on very exceptional terms. In many cases, though there are still bargains in second-hand material, the buyer prefers to take as little risk a§ possible and to pay more instalments to get something that no one else has used. Prices reported during the past week or two have included the following: Jewett coach, 1926, £3OO Oakland coach, 1926, £3OO Overland six sedan, £275 Morris Cowley, 1925 tourer, £lB5 Standard 1925 tourer, £3OO Chevrolet 1924 tourer, £llO Ford 1924 tourer, £BS Hupmobile 1922 tourer, £125. Durant 1924 special, £l6O Ford 1924 tourer, £75 Rugby 1926 tourer, £165
