Renown Collieries Operations.— The directors of the Renown Collieries, Ltd., late Hetherington’s, announce that it is hoped to have the mine in ftill working order before the end of the present year. The railway track should also- be laid by that time. Kauri Gum Levies. —Export levies on . kauri gum have been fixed by the Control Board, according to tht Gazette, at 15s per cent of current t. 0.9. export value of the gum during tht period May 1 to October 31, inclusive ; and thereafter at the rate of 39s pc: cent. Control Board Salaries. — According to the Gazette, Kauri Gum Contra regulations provide for the payment o. an honorarium of £250 a year to tht chairman of the board, and to meinbers while engaged on the board f business, fees at the rate of £2 2s i day each. .
