DANGER OF SMALL BOATS
THE RANGITOTO FATALITY INQUEST TO-DAY "These small boats are all right for paddling to a launch or yacht, but they are certainly not made to carry three four across a stretch of water such as the Rangitoto channel,” said the coroner. Mr. F. K. Hunt, at the inquest on the victims of the Rangitoto drowning fatality to-day. The three victims were Raymond Kirkwood Mathieson. Doris Ethel Longuet and Annie Amelia Franklin. Frederick William Franklin, the father of the two girls who were drownea, said that there vyas any amount of accommodation available on the island, and people were never refused. He had been told this by the caretaker himself. Among those who gave evidence were rhe two survivors, Walter Noyes and Harold Walby. Mr. Longuet. the husband of one of the lady victims, Doris Ethel Longuet was present. After evidence had been taken a verdict of death by accidental drowning was given.
