HORTICULTURAL SHOW

TAURANGA FIXTURE (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) TAURANGA, To-day. The Beautifying and Horticultural Society held its autumn show on Thursday. Considering the unseasonable weather experienced of late there was a most creditable display of blooms, fruit and vegetables. There was an excellent exhibit (for exhibition only) by Captain Dorling (Auckland). The show was opened at 2.30 p.m. by the president of the society, Air. B. C. Robbins, in the presence of a good attendance. The prize for the champion bloom in ‘ the show fell to Aliss M. Glass. There was keen competition in the decorated tables and mantlepiece classes. Aliss Wallis was placed first and Airs. Corrigan second for tables by adults, while for mantelpieces the first prize went to Airs. Corrigan and second to Aliss Lorna Darragh. In the decorated tables for high school girls Lorna Darragh won the first prize and Nancy Calcombe the second.
