SALE OF LIQUOR
CASES FROM NORTH HEAVY FINES INFLICTED (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. In the Kaitaia Magistrate’s Court to-day before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., charges of illegally selling liquor were preferred against Martin Nicholich. Mariu Kurte and Anton Jerkovich. Nicholich was fined £IOO and Kurte and Jerkovich £SO each. The magistrate also gave his reserved decision in the case of the police versus Milne, licensee of the Mangonui Hotel, against whom two charges w T ere preferred on February 17 for keeping his licensed premises open after hours. Milne was fined £lO and for selling liquor after hours his licence was endorsed.
