OUT OF ORDER
M.L.C. RULED OUT SPEAKER’S LITTLE JOKE (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir. Chas. E. Statham, had his little joke at the expense of the Hon. W. Mclntyre, M.L.C., during the progress of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association to-day. Mr. Mclntyre was endeavouring to have the rules of the association altered to provide for the establishment of a separate West Coast district as a competing unit for the football association trophy. Sir Charles Stathan, who presided over the meeting, sa;d, ‘I am afraid you are out of order,” adding in a laughing manner, “I am always pleased of an opportunity of ruling Mr. McIntyre out of order, because he usually keeps out of my reach.” This reference to “another place" was appreciated by Mr. Mclntyre himself as well as the members of the meeting. “Perhaps an expression of opinion from the meeting would suffice,” suggested Sir Charles. “Oh well,” replied Mr. Mclntyre, ruefully, “If that’s all I can get I shall have to be satisfied.” (
