The decrease in the basic wage under the Commonwealth Arbitration Court awards comes into operation, excepting at Perth and Adelaide, on May 1. In Melbourne and Sydney the reduction will be Is weekly, in Brisbane 2s 6d, and in Hobart 6d. In Adelaide there will be an increase of Is 6d, while Perth remains as at present.—A. and N.Z.
