LEAGUE RUGBY
GAME !N AUCKLAND SELECTORS APPOINTED TRANSFERS AND REGRADES At the meetingn of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, a request from the Point Chevalier Club, that it be permitted to enter a team in the senior B grade, was granted. An application from A. Ghent for regrading from Parnell seniors to juniors was approved. The following senior M. 0.8. players were granted transfers: H. Hudson, to Grafton Athletics; H. Moore, to North - cote; G. B. Thomson, to Newton: and Ivan Littlewood (Ponsonby seniors), to Ellerslie. The Otago Rugby League wrote asking that a copy of the Auckland referees’ rulings be forwarded. The request was granted. A remit from the Marist Club suggested an amendment to a clause dealing with the insurance of all senior grade players. Mr. I). P. Deere said that while his club appreciated the generous treatment offered by the League scheme, it was of the opinion that no time limit should be placed on the treatment received by an injured player. Mr. Hammill pointed out that every senior player was insured free of charge for 15 weeks, during which time £3 a week was paid out from the League funds. The remit was defeated. Messrs. E. V. Fox, E. K. Asher, and A. Blakey were appointed selectors of the Auckland team. Mr. W. J. Davidson raised a point dealing with the future acceptance of nominations of teams in the B section. Representation on the Management Committee from B section delegates should not outnumber that of the A section. It was decided that in future the nominations of B section delegates shall not exceed those of the A section. The players chosen to represent the Auckland members of the New Zealand team v. Auckland, will assemble at Carlaw Park at 7.30 this evening, when the final selection will be made by the Auckland selectors. It was decided that the match Auckland All Blacks v. Auckland should commence at 2.45, the curtainraiser City 6a v. Akarana to start at 1.30. Following is the draw for the first round of the senior B competition: Mangere v. Nortlicote, Point Chevalier v. Otahuhu, Ellerslie v. Parnell, Kingsland a bye.
