SOLDIERS’ WISH MET CLOSING-DATE FOR TENDERS (From Ov.r Resident Correspondent.) •WELLINGTON, To-day. In accordance with the wish of the returned soldiers who recently waited on the Hon. F. J. Rolleston, the Government has extended the closing date of tenders for artificial limbs to the end of May, and coincident with this, specific classes are withdrawn from the specifications. These limbs contain what arc called new features, which some limbless men consider unnecessary. but which will possibly be of use eventually when the demand becomes manifest. , "The desire of the Government is to get a standard limb." Mr. G. C. Fache, Commissioner of Pensions, says. "There seems to be an idea among soldiers that we desire to foist these things on to them. We have no desire to do this. The limbs deleted are A2 and c class.”
