On the recommendation of the departmental committee, whose renorr was adopted, it was decided that » lift should be installed at a cost ft £1,300. and that the engineer be in structed to submit a plan and estb mate of the cost of removing the board room to the top floor. WORKSHOPS AND STORES A definite move in the proposal tc establish the board's workshops and stores on the eastern reclamation made when the board decided to instruct .the engineer to prepare plans and estimates for consideration when next year's estimates are framed. Those present at yesterday's meeting, the last of the retiring board, were: Messrs. H. R. Mackenzie, chairman. T. B. Clay, E. W. Inder, J. g Johnston, W. H. Murray, Campbell Johnstone, A. M. Laing, G. Parr, J Henderson, M. H. Wynyard and ' T* Bloodworth. After the meeting the usual voledictory compliments were exchanged between the chairman and the members.
