ATTACK FEARED
DI PINEDO IN NEW YORK PLANS FOR FUTURE By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright NEW YORK, Monday. The Italian aviator, the Marchese di Pinedo, whose arrival had been kept as secret as possible, reached New York by train from Washington at 2 a.m. to-day. Extraordinary arrangements had been made to assure his personal safety, because the threat of a P° s ‘ sible anti-Fascist demonstration had been made. The Italian Consul-General, Signor Emilio Axerio, and his staff greeted the aviator. The Consul showed thgreatest reluctance to permit any body else to meet him. The marchese said he looked bacfc on his Australian flight as a T ®rf pleasant experience, narticularly t welcome accorded to him upon arrival. It was more like a hom coming than a visit. The marchese intends to inakei # short stay in New York. He then possibly make a tour to American cities with a new aerop before starting on his return jou to Italy via the Azores.— A. N.Z.
