BREAKWATER AND TUG
On the effect of the new Western breakwater in the Auckland Harbour depends the purchase of a new tug. If the breakwater so restricts the play of the Waitemata’s tidal currents that shipping can manoeuvre more easily, no tug will be required. The Harbour Board therefore decided yesterday to wait until the effect of the construction of the western breakwater is seen.
