WOMAN ON SHELF
BAG OF TOOLS ON FLOOR BREAKING AND ENTERING CHARGE Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The case of Sarah Ann Johnston, 46, who was found on a shelf in a Te Aro house on the night of April 8, came before Mr. E. Page, S.M., to-day, the charge being breaking and entering, with intent to commit a crime. Evidence was given _by a night watchman as to finding a hole in the back door, the summoning of the police and the search of the premises. He isaid the demeanour of accused on being got down from the shelf was very calm. There was a lady’s shopping bag on the floor, containing a torch, as well as a quantity of tools. To Mr. P. Jackson (who appeared for accused): He could not say whether or not the hole cut in the door was the work of a cracksman. The case is proceeding. •
