WEEK-END PLAY SPOILED BY WEATHER Though conditions on Saturday afternoon before the various competitions started were ideal, early in the afternoon rain commenced and made conditions most unpleasant. The two main features were the openings of One Tree Hill x links and Waitemad Club. HOLE IN ONE Last week H. Randrup holed out his tee shot at the first hole at Titirangi. A temporary green is being played at present, and is some 240 yards from the tee. Unfortunately for the player there was a large attendance, and the usual penalty was doubled. MAUNGAKIEKiE CLUB The Maungakiekie Club’s One Tree Hill links were opened on Saturday afternoon. The course was somewhat heavy and the greens poor. Members are looking forward to the time when the new mower will 1 e at work, in about three weeks’ time. In spite of the conditions some good scoring was done, the winning card being that of Mrs. G. L. Taylor and F. Wiseman, 2 down on 12 handicapMrs. Dignan and J. W. Clarke were I down, and Mrs. C. Robinson and 1George, 4 down. After the competition the members were entertained at afternoon tea h> Messrs. G. L. Taylor (president), N. Mcßobie (captain). WAITEMATA CLUB Waitemata Club opened its links on Saturday. The course was in excellent order. In spite of the weather conditions some good scoring was done, tne best cards being: Mrs. Nevell and i Jackson, 73; Miss Mark and k- - Kennedy, 74; Mrs. Goldwater ana Porter 75. PUPUKE CLUB A stroke handicap was played at Pupuke on Saturday. Some exceiie cards were returned, including • Mingay 79—12, 67, A. Warbrick 71; J. McKenzie, 77 —6, 71. GLENDOWIE CLUB A bogey handicap was played on the Glendowie links on Saturday ai noon. The links were in splendid c dition and, in spite of the ram so good scores were returned. c Following are the best cards: ' Niccols, 3 up; G. Kissling, 2 up. Bradley, 1 up; C. S. Woods, all uf*. H.
