OPENING OF LINKS (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Friday. The Tikipunga links bore a very attractive appearance this afternoon, when a large number of members attended the official opening ceremony. In the absence of the president, Dr. H. F. Buckley, the opening was performed by Major D. B. Blair, D. 5.0., vice-president of the club. In his remarks Major Blair commented on the favourable outlook and the splendid state of the links for the commencement of the season. He then declared the links open for the season’s play.
