WANTED: A SECRETARY

NORTHLAND OFFICIAL RESIGNS MEETING OF EXECUTIVE (Special to THE SUN.) WHANG ARE I, Thursday. At a meeting of the Northland Trotting Club executive held last nigh£, the secretary, Mr. F. W. Webster, tendered his resignation, with extreme reluctance and regret. In moving that the resignation be accepted as from June 30, the president, Mr. L. J. Brake, stated that Mr. Webster, as the club's secretary, was a most capable and efficient officer and carried out his duties with skill and enthusiasm. He established goodwill between members and the general public by his courteous and tactful manner. The club was losing a valuable officer, but the executive was glad to note that he was bettering his position, and congratulated him upon his new appointment as secretary of the Wangarei Racing Club.

The motion was carried unanimously, together with another recording on the minutes the club’s very sincere appreciation of Mr. Webster’s capable and efficient services as secretary. It was decided to advertise for a successor to take up duty on July 1. The secretary produced a list of unfinaneial members and it was decided to write to each one and request pavment by May 30. The strength of financial members is 288.
