FERTILISER MANUFACTURE
IMPORTANT AUSTRALIAN MOVE The trend towards the manufacture and distribution of fertilisers on a large scale is becoming increasingly evident. On the other side of the Tasman an arrangement has recently been entered into between the Mount Lyall Mining and Railway Co. and the Cuming, Smith and Co." Pty. Ltd. for the issuing of a prospectus for the creation of a company in Western Australia to be known as the Westralian Farmers’ Superphosphate Ltd. The new company is to have an authorised capital of £1,000,000, divided into 400,000 8 per cent, noncumulative preference shares of 20s each, and 600,000 ordinary shares also of 20s each. Farmers and farmers’ co-operative concerns are to be given preference in the alocation of shares, and it is the intention of promoters that the new company acquire tlie fertiliser interests of the parent companies and operate in all the Australian States much in the same manner as other farmers’ co-operative concerns. It is claimed that the company will be thus able to maintain an even price in all States.
