LONDON MARKETS

N.Z. FRUIT SELLING STEADILY The, following cablegram has been received from Colonel Gray, chairman of the New Zealand Fruit Export Control Board, stationed in London: “ The Cambridge and Mahana shipments have arrived in good condition, though there is much pit in the Cox’s. The market is quiet. Opening prices were: Cox’s, 30s; Jonathan, 17s; Dunns, 17s; Worcester, 15s; Ribston, 16s; Premier, 14s; Wolseley and Alfriston, 15s. If the lonic shipment arrives in as good a condition prices should remain steady. The packing was slightly on the loose side, possibly caused by inexperience of the new case.” The new case referred to is the Canadian standard case used in New Zealand this year for the? first time. No apples from the Auckland district were included in the vessels mentioned in the cable. BUTTER AND CHEESE Under date April 21. Messrs. Norden and Company have received the following cable from their London principals: Butter. —Salted, 1535; unsalted, 1665; market steady. Cheese, white, 765; coloured, 1775; market quiet.
