HOPES OF MONARCHY
PLANS IN RUSSIA ORGANISATION BROKEN UP By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Received 10.50 a.irf. MOSCOW, Wednesday. The Political Department announces that it has discovered and broken up a Monarchist group calling themselves followers of the ex-Grand Duke Nicholas. They were mainly engaged in military espionage on behalf of foreign intelligence services, which were also supporting their attempts to create an anti-Soviet organisation in Russia. The Monarchists were directed by Youtepov and the ex-General of the White Army residing in Paris. They received funds from foreign sources, but their attempts completely failed. It is not established that they had relations to any classes of the population. It is expected that further investiga tions will produce evidence of fresh foreign financial machinations. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
