MONEY UNACCOUNTED FOR
MAN ADMITS CHARGE GREAT SUM INVOLVED Press Association. ASHBURTON, To-day. George Cecil Xield pleaded guilty to having received £IOO and failing to account for it to Thomas Mcßae Clark, Ashburton. Xield was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. His statement showed that he was heavily involved in transactions concerning insurance shares. He said the trouble was caused by paying out profits to clients that had never been earned. By one transaction he was £3,000 in debt. He came to New Zealand fronj England three years ago. The magistrate said accused’s statement showed that he had defraud' people of thousands of pounds.
